A runner's perspective in four and a half minutes of the San Jose Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon held on Sunday, October 2, 2011. Local bands and several thousand runners (and walkers) took over the streets of downtown San Jose for the annual Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon. Local bands performed on stages setup at each mile marker along the route. The 13.1 mile race started at Santa Clara Street and Almaden Avenue and finished at Park Avenue just before Plaza de Cesar Chavez. Big Head Todd and the Monsters headlined the post-race festival. The live music lineup along the route included: Independence HS Marching Band Untied Loose Gravel Cadent Full on Flyhead Your New Secret Six String Sage The Megatones Cocktail Monkeys Shark Sandwich Neverwonder Drive Full Throttle Videographer runner: Tony Smith Videographer's half marathon time: 2:16
